The ASUS ROG Strix B760-A Gaming WiFi is an ATX gaming motherboard built around the Intel B760 chipset and LGA1700 processor socket. Model 90MB1EP0-M1EAY0 supports 12th, 13th and 14th Generation Intel Core processors as well as compatible Pentium Gold and Celeron processors, with support for one CPU. It combines the ROG Strix design approach with a high-contrast, cyber-inspired appearance while providing a platform equipped for gaming and application workloads. Its feature set includes PCIe 5.0 expansion, DDR5 memory, extensive USB connectivity, high-speed wired and wireless networking, integrated SupremeFX audio and onboard graphics connectivity when used with a suitable CPU.
The board provides four 288-pin DIMM slots and supports up to 192 GB of DDR5 memory in a dual-channel architecture. Supported memory operation spans 4800 MHz through 7800 MHz, with specified higher frequencies operating as overclocked settings. Intel Extreme Memory Profiles are supported for compatible memory configurations, while the memory architecture uses unbuffered modules with non-ECC and on-die ECC support. ASUS OptiMem II is also incorporated into the motherboard's hardware feature set. By using DDR5 rather than an earlier memory generation, this version of the ROG Strix B760-A platform provides the DDR5 bandwidth specified for compatible games and applications.
Expansion capability is headed by a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot, accompanied by a PCIe 3.0 x16 slot operating in x4 mode and two PCIe 3.0 x1 slots. Storage can be configured through four SATA-600 connectors and three PCIe 4.0 M.2 connections. Two of the M.2 sockets accept 2242, 2260 and 2280 Key M devices, while the third supports 2242, 2260, 2280 and 22110 Key M formats. SATA storage supports RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5 and RAID 10, and Intel Rapid Storage Technology is included among the board's RAID capabilities. An M.2 heatsink and ASUS M.2 Q-Latch are among the hardware features provided to support M.2 installation and configuration.
External connectivity covers modern and legacy USB requirements, including USB-C 3.2 Gen 2x2, USB 3.2 Gen 2, USB 3.2 Gen 1, USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 and USB 2.0 connections. The specified USB configuration also includes internal headers for additional USB-C 3.2 Gen 2, USB 3.2 Gen 1 and USB 2.0 connectivity. Display connectivity consists of HDMI and DisplayPort for onboard graphics output when a processor with the required graphics capability is installed. Internal connections additionally include S/PDIF, audio and Thunderbolt headers.
Networking is provided through 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet together with wireless support for 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax, including Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.3. Two aerial connections are provided externally, and an ASUS Wi-Fi moving aerial is supplied with the motherboard. ASUS LANGuard is also included among the board's hardware features. This combination gives the system both high-speed wired LAN and integrated wireless connectivity without requiring separate networking adapters for the supported standards.
For audio, the ROG Strix B760-A Gaming WiFi uses an eight-channel HD Audio implementation based on the SupremeFX ALC4080 codec. It complies with High Definition Audio and DTS Sound Unbound standards. External analogue connections include line-in, line-out, microphone, rear line-out and centre/subwoofer outputs, allowing the integrated audio system to serve speakers or headphones without requiring a separate sound card for the provided functionality.
The motherboard's power and thermal design includes a 12+1 phase power arrangement, ASUS Extreme Engine Digi+, ASUS ProCool, 5K Black Metallic Capacitors, a six-layer PCB, a VRM heatsink design and an M.2 heatsink. Power is supplied through a 24-pin main connector together with 8-pin and 4-pin ATX12V connections. ASUS SafeSlot, SafeDIMM and a CPU socket lever protector are also incorporated into the hardware design. The board additionally supports Intel Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0 and Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 where applicable to the installed processor and platform configuration.
System building, configuration and troubleshooting are supported by a collection of ASUS features that includes ASUS EZ DIY, ASUS Q-Design, Q-DIMM, Q-LED, Q-Slot, PCIe Slot Q-Release and M.2 Q-Latch. A pre-mounted I/O shield is fitted to the motherboard, while BIOS FlashBack functionality is accompanied by a dedicated button and LED. The AMI BIOS provides ASUS EZ Flash 3 and ASUS UEFI BIOS EZ Mode, with CrashFree BIOS 3 also included. Wake on PME and Wake on LAN are supported for sleep and wake functionality.
Visual customisation is provided through ASUS Aura Sync and lighting controls, complementing the board's ROG styling and allowing compatible RGB elements to be managed as part of a system build. ASUS also supplies a range of software utilities for system configuration, monitoring, cooling, networking, audio and lighting. The software package comprises MemTest86, WinRAR, Norton 360 for Gamers, an Adobe Creative Cloud free trial, MyAsus, PC Cleaner, ASUS AI Suite III, ASUS Fan Xpert 4, ASUS AURA Creator, a 60-day trial of AIDA64 Extreme, Armoury Crate, Sonic Radar III, ROG CPU-Z, ROG GameFirst VI, Sonic Studio Virtual Mixer and Sonic Suite Companion.
Measuring 30.5 cm wide by 24.4 cm deep, the motherboard uses the ATX form factor. Supplied accessories consist of a thermal pad for an M.2 SSD, an ASUS Wi-Fi moving aerial, cable ties, an M.2 Q-Latch, ROG stickers, an ROG thank-you card and one M.2 rubber package. Two Serial ATA cables are also included, providing the specified cabling for SATA device connections.
