The ASUS PRIME B850M-A WIFI, model 90MB1LN0-M0EAY0, is a micro ATX motherboard built around the AMD B850 chipset and Socket AM5 platform. It supports compatible AMD Ryzen 7000, 8000 and 9000 Series processors, with a single CPU socket and support for one processor. Designed as the foundation of a modern AMD system, it combines DDR5 memory support, PCIe expansion, multiple M.2 and SATA storage connections, integrated networking, high-definition audio and a broad selection of external and internal interfaces.

Four 288-pin DIMM slots provide support for up to 256 GB of DDR5 SDRAM. The memory subsystem uses a dual-channel architecture and supports AMD EXPO technology as well as ASUS Enhanced Memory Profile technology. Supported memory characteristics include on-die ECC, non-ECC and ECC memory, with unbuffered modules specified. The stated memory bus clock reaches 4000 MHz when overclocked, giving the platform a DDR5-based memory architecture intended to support responsive operation and demanding multitasking.

Expansion capability includes one PCIe 5.0 x16 slot and one PCIe 4.0 x16 slot, allowing the board to accommodate high-performance expansion components. Storage can be configured through four SATA-600 connectors and three M.2 sockets. Two of the M.2 positions accept 2280 M.2 Key M devices, while the remaining M.2 Key M socket supports 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 form factors. Storage connectivity comprises one PCIe 5.0 M.2 connection and two PCIe 4.0 M.2 connections in addition to the four 7-pin Serial ATA connectors. AMD RAID Xpert2 Technology is provided, with RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5 and RAID 10 support for compatible SATA storage configurations.

Network connectivity is integrated directly into the motherboard and includes 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet alongside wireless networking supporting the 802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11n, 802.11ac and 802.11ax standards, with Wi-Fi 6E capability. Bluetooth 5.3 is also included for compatible wireless devices. Two aerial connections are available at the rear, and an ASUS Wi-Fi Q-antenna is supplied with the motherboard.

The external connection selection covers both current peripherals and established USB devices. Rear interfaces include two USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports and four USB 2.0 ports. Additional connectivity can be provided through motherboard headers, comprising one USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 header, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 header connections and four USB 2.0 header connections. Internal connections also include an SPDIF output header, SPI header, audio header and serial header.

Display connectivity is provided through HDMI and DisplayPort outputs, with onboard graphics functionality requiring a suitable CPU. The motherboard also incorporates High Definition Audio with 8-channel output. Its rear audio connectivity consists of an audio line-out mini-jack, an audio line-in mini-jack and a rear audio line-out mini-jack, while the internal SPDIF and audio headers provide additional connection options for compatible system components.

Power delivery is based on an 8+2+1 phase design and is complemented by ASUS DIGI+ VRM and ASUS ProCool technologies. Power connections consist of a 24-pin main motherboard connector together with 8-pin and 4-pin ATX12V connectors. Thermal hardware includes a VRM heatsink design, chipset heatsink, PCH heatsink and a dedicated M.2 heatsink, providing heat-dissipation provisions for key motherboard components during demanding operation.

The board incorporates an 8-layer PCB and TUF 5K black metallic capacitors, together with a collection of ASUS protection, installation and component-support features. These include ASUS Overvoltage Protection, TUF Protection, TUF LANGuard, SafeDIMM, SafeSlot and a stainless-steel rear I/O assembly. A pre-mounted I/O shield is also fitted. ASUS EZ DIY and the wider Q-Design feature set are represented through M.2 Q-Latch, PCIe Slot Q-Release, Q-Antenna, Q-Dashboard, Q-DIMM and Q-LED functionality, supporting system assembly, component installation and hardware status checking.

System firmware is based on an AMI BIOS with UEFI BIOS support. ASUS UEFI BIOS EZ Mode and ASUS EZ Flash 3 provide firmware configuration and update functionality, while CrashFree BIOS 3 adds BIOS recovery capability. A BIOS FlashBack button and corresponding BIOS FlashBack LED are included. The motherboard also supports Preboot eXecution Environment, or PXE, along with Wake on LAN and wake on PME functionality.

ASUS Aura Sync support provides compatibility with the ASUS lighting ecosystem, while the included software selection covers system configuration, drivers, cooling control, connectivity, audio processing and other utilities. Supplied software comprises Armoury Crate, ASUS AURA Creator, ASUS DriverHub, ASUS Fan Xpert 4, ASUS GlideX, ASUS TUF GAMING CPU-Z, TurboV Core and DTS Audio Processing. What happens if I miss my delivery

Orders valued at €100 or less:

• You will receive and email and/or SMS from DPD / AnPost once they have your parcel from us, if you would like to, you can use the link in that message to re-arrange your delivery location and date. If you chose DPD for your delivery, you will receive another email and/or SMS on the day that your parcel is "Out for Delivery" letting you know the time, within an hour or so, to expect the DPD driver. If you chose AnPost for your delivery, you can check the AnPost tracking website the next working day to see if your parcel has been put out for delviery by AnPost, you can then expect delivery at the usual time your AnPost delivery person passes through your area. Please note, unexpected issues with transportation, roads, traffic, and weather can affect this estimated delivery date/time.

• If nobody is home to accept, inspect, and sign for the delivery, DPD / AnPost may, if appropriate, leave your parcel in a "safe place". If there is no "Safe place" available, the parcel will be returned to your local DPD / AnPost depot, you can then arrange a re-delivery date with DPD / AnPost.
